Heather did an outstanding job presenting in person, especially during her training on Having Intentional Conversations. Her ability to convey the importance of open communication, even when difficult, was inspiring. She emphasized how crucial it is to address issues with kindness, firmness, and assertiveness to improve relationships, communication, and understanding. I learned much from her, particularly the significance of handling challenging conversations to maintain fairness and consistency. Her approach and skills in engaging and interacting during presentations were truly impressive.

During COVID-19, Heather used her knowledge of technology to create highly interactive presentations for her students. However, one of her most significant roadblocks was her placement as a bilingual educator during this difficult time. She took on this challenge, even though she is not Spanish-speaking, she built solid and healthy relationships with diverse families despite the language barrier and virtual learning. She leads with common sense, grace, and compassion. She is the first to volunteer for new experiences and doesn't worry about "what-ifs."

Heather started her own business, WhizKids Discovery Labs, based on her passion for early childhood and STEM learning for all students, specifically ages 3-5. I proudly mentored her in marketing and growing her business. She found true success because of the engaging, literacy-based science activities and the relationships she had built. I was disappointed to hear that her business became unsustainable due to the COVID-19 preventative measures, and she returned to the classroom. I know her future endeavors will also be successful, as she has the common sense and wherewithal to succeed in whatever she puts her mind to.
